Reset Reorder Point Based On Actual Usage

Main Menu| Utilities| Reset Reorder Point

Admit it. Your Reorder Points are a guess-timate.

That’s because when you set up a supply item initially, you had only a rough feel for how many units of the item you would use regularly.

But if you add a REORDER FACTOR value to the item, the system can calculate how many Units you use daily on average and reset the Reorder Point accordingly.

Reorder Factor: What Is It?

Simply put, reorder factor is your estimate of the number of days worth of stock (based on Average Daily Usage) you wish to set as your reorder point treshhold. For example, if it takes you two weeks to get new stock of an item into your warehouse, set reorder factor to 14.

You may edit the Reorder Factor in either Main Menu|Supplies|Edit ( Editing Supply Items) or in the Single Item Update screen (Single Item Update of Supplies).

Click this button to see NEW Reorder Pt calculated on average daily usage x the reorder factor.

Tip: Don’t use this utility unless you have at least 6 months of log out history for a particular item.

As you can see (above), the NEW Reorder Points differ substantially from your guess-timates. Click Yes and the new reorder points will be posted.

Restoring Original Values

Click the Undo Button to get back your old reorder point values.

The old Reorder Points (50 units) were restored (below).
