Filling Backorders

The Fill Backorders screen [Main Menu | Transactions | Fill Backorders] (below) shows only the unfilled backorders on the database. Here, we select only one record to fill (highlighted in blue below).

Filling them, however, is easy, and you may elect to fill all or selected backorders with a single click of a button (above).

Note:

Ultra does not automatically FILL backorders

Therefore, you must periodically fill accumulated backorders from this screen.

Fill Selected Backorders.  When we click the "Fill Selected" button, we notice three things happen:

·    Our selected item "Green Fast Cash" is removed from the grid,

·    A confirmation message tells us that our selected backorder was "filled."

·    The three items not filled show up in the "BACKORDERS NOT FILLED" listbox below the grid.

To verify the fill, we click the "View/Print" button (bottom of the screen above), and our Backorder PRINT Options appear in the center of the screen (below).

When we call up our item, sure enough, we visually confirm our backorder was filled and logged out.

Note: Three backorders appear in the "Backorders Not Filled" listbox (left).

We select the "Today's Backorders: FILLED only" option button (left) to verify our "Green Fast Cash" backorder was filled.

The report (left) shows that the backorder was indeed filled.

Note: The "Filled Date" column shows today's date, indicating that the backorder is no longer open

.

Note: the "oB" in the "!" column. This transaction code indicates a log out filled by a backorder.

Fill ALL Backorders.

Now we will attempt to fill the three open backorders (below) using the "FILL ALL" button.

This button automatically selects all open items as shown below.

Therefore, these three backorders will remain "open" until we log in enough units to fill them.

Unfortunately, none could be filled, as the confirmation box (left) tells us.

The Units OH column (left) holds the answer —not enough units were on hand to fill these backorders!

Other Backorder Buttons.

·    Delete backorder

·    View Item

·    Help

Two buttons allow a selected item to be viewed or deleted. A third, the Help button, gives you pop-up aid and instructions.
