Multi-User Installation to a Server |
||||
uMULTIUSER SETUP |
Even though it can be run as a single
user app, ULTRA was designed to server multiple PCs via a
network. Key functions like online requisitioning require a Multi PC
installation and 999 user ids are available to access ULTRA (we will discuss
this later in System Administrator functions).
The basic processs for running multiple ULTRA users from a
SERVER consists of: · installing
the software setup (setup97.exe) on each PC (see the single-user installation) and then · setting
up a SERVER PATH with the app files and ·
mapping the ULTRA desktop icon
to the SERVER PATH |
|||
v SETUP THE SERVER PATH |
To run ULTRA off the
network, you must set up a SERVER FOLDER. Here, we will use R:\APPS. Create this path on the
server and allow Full Read/Write
access and file sharing of all files in the folder. |
|||
w COPY FILES |
Copy ALL FILES FROM: the ULTRA default folder (c:\program files\invplus) |
TO: the SERVER PATH (R:\Apps). |

This will copy the
necessary files to the SERVER which include: ·
the ULTRA
executable program file invULTRA97.exe
·
the database
files invplus.mdb,
invplus_Archive.mdb, and
invplus_Backup.mdb ·
all
miscellaneous files (mainly the *.std files, which contain the standard |
